The next chapter in the Hanhaa story was written this week as the company upped its roots from the Rainmaking Loft and planted new ones in Tobacco Dock, London. While Hanhaa’s new space is just a stone’s throw away from its old one the move is significant in what it represents for the company.
Moving to a larger, private space Tobacco Dock will provide Hanhaa with an exciting and modern place in which to grow. With an idea that began on a kitchen table the company took residence in the Rainmaking Loft in 2015 and spent almost two years inside one of London’s great start-up offices. Looking back over that time Hanhaa CEO Azhar Hussain said “The Rainmaking Loft gave us a great launch pad for Hanhaa. It enabled us to recruit great people, meet with clients and suppliers as well as take advantage of the great partnerships such as with Tesco and IBM. Being around so many other unique and exciting start-ups also provided great opportunities for collaboration and the sharing of ideas”.

The past twelve months has seen Hanhaa triple the size of its team as well as launching both ParceLive and Hanhaa Mobile. The accelerated growth of the company and additional equipment and infrastructure now needed to oil the Hanhaa machine lead to the decision to move offices. Hussain commented on the new space by saying “The move to Tobacco dock will give us our own space in which to continue to grow the company. It’s a big move for Hanhaa which reflects the leaps that we have made as a team in the past 18 months or so and our move away from being a ‘start-up’. The dock offers a modern office setting in a historic building while ensuring that we still remain in central London, which will be important for us as we continue to bring in the top talent”.

Hanhaa’s first product, ParceLive, is now tracking hundreds of parcels across the world. Combining a unique sensor based data set with mobile communication ParceLive is bringing the Internet of Things into global logistics in a very real way. All of the design and technology for ParceLive is developed in house and the service is connected globally by Hanhaa Mobile, the company’s own Mobile Network.
Tobacco Dock is easily accessible from both Wapping and Shadwell London Overground Stations, the Shadwell Docklands Light Railway Station and is just a 15 minute walk from both Tower Hill and Aldgate East Underground stations. Hanhaa’s new business address is:
